Stainless steel header pipe with a distinctive outward-flaring line
Stainless steel header pipe with a distinctive outward-flaring line.
Adds definition to the slim SR and pairs perfectly with the TAPERED CORN muffler.
Interchangeable with the stock header pipe, so it can be used with the stock silencer or aftermarket slip-on mufflers.
It sticks out only to the extent that it won't hit the ground if the bike falls over.

Please note
*Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, slight variations in bends or visible tooling marks may be present.Use the stock damper at the lower frame mount.
*Also sold separately (G4-00110-01).
*This product is for the stock silencer and our SR silencers.
With aftermarket silencers (especially those not using a gasket), it may not be possible to install. In that case, it is not covered by the warranty.

SR400/500 ('78-'08)FAQ
Q The header pipe turns red. Is it defective?
A
Most aftermarket header pipes, including ours, are single-wall pipes,
and many header pipes discolor from heat, not just ours.
*This is especially noticeable on mufflers designed for light weight, which are about 1mm thick.
*Our mufflers are 1.5mm thick.
The stock SR header pipe is double-walled, but
many models have single-wall pipes from the factory, so we consider this normal.

Q Stain-like marks have appeared
A
Stainless steel header pipes basically discolor from heat.
People generally either let the heat discoloration build up and age naturally, or polish it regularly.
*Degreasing and applying heat-resistant wax during installation helps it last longer.
*Discolored areas can be restored by polishing with a common metal polish (such as Pikal, found at home centers).
