The Coupler-On Harness Set for Speedometer with Indicators Illumination is a harness that, when installing a 60φ speedometer with indicators on the SR400 ('93-'02)/500, connects the illumination and each indicator simply by plugging into the bike-side coupler.
Based on the original installation diagram, this page explains how the bike-side harness, coupler-on harness and meter connect, and how the wires are assigned.
01 Installation diagram
Connect, from left to right, the "harness (bike side)," the "coupler-on harness" and the "60φ indicator meter." Plug the coupler-on harness into the bike-side coupler and connect the other end to each wire of the meter.
02 Meter-side wiring
The wiring on the 60φ indicator meter side is assigned as follows, as shown in the diagram.
- Oil lamp (-) / oil lamp (+): cut (do not connect)
- Illumination (-) / illumination (+): connect to the coupler-on harness with bullet connectors
- Turn signal (-) / turn signal (+)
- Neutral (-) / neutral (+)
- High beam (-) / high beam (+)
The oil lamp wires are marked "cut" in the diagram. Do not connect them, and insulate the ends.
After connecting, be sure to check that the meter illumination and each indicator light up correctly.
