The Short Rib Fender is a ribbed short fender that replaces the stock rear fender on the DYNA. The stock mounting bolts and collars are used, and it is installed at the stock mounting points on the frame.
The instructions consist of a side-view installation diagram and notes. This page explains how to read the diagram and the precautions to follow during installation.
01 Installation diagram

The fender is secured at two points on the frame. The thread of the mounting points on the underside of the fender is 3/8-16 UNC. At the front mounting point, the stock collar goes between the fender and the frame.
| Mounting point | Mounting method |
|---|---|
| Rear | Secured together with the turn signal |
| Front | Uses the stock bolt (with the stock collar) |
Use the stock mounting bolts and collars.
02 Note on the seat mounting area
- Use the supplied E-ring in place of the stock plastic retaining ring that holds the seat.
- Note that if the paint on the seat mounting area is too thick, the retaining E-ring will not fit.
03 Wiring modification and wire retainers
The supplied couplers and bullet connectors are compatible with the couplers on the stock harness. Modify the wiring to suit the taillight and turn signals you are installing.
After securing the wiring with the wire retainers, press them against the fender and check that there is no interference with the tire.
After installation, be sure to check that all bolts and nuts are tight and that the lights work. Descriptions of the tools used and general wiring procedures are omitted. Due to individual differences between bikes, some adjustment or ingenuity may be required.
