The internals combine a straight-through design + formed wool with a carefully refined inner baffle, especially in the everyday city-riding range boosting power across the board, mainly in the low-to-mid range and all the way up to high rpm (see graph).On fuel-injected bikes, even without fuel tuning,it produces power as shown in the graph.

Q I've already bought one. Can it be painted black now?

Painting is possible under the following conditions, so please review them before deciding.

Q I installed it on an FI bike, but it makes popping sounds. Is it defective?
A
This product is designed to be installed as is on FI bikes, but there is some variation from bike to bike.
If mild, it should have almost no effect on the bike, but if the symptom occurs frequently, please try the following product (from another company).

If the symptom does not improve even after installing the AI Cancel Plug Kit, possible causes include
• The band or flange at the base of the header pipe is loose and drawing in secondary air
• The cam chain has stretched and the cam timing has shifted
so please check these.
If mild, it should have almost no effect on the bike, but if the symptom occurs frequently, please try the following product (from another company).

Q It has gradually started to show heat discoloration with use

Stainless mufflers generally discolor.
*Almost every stainless muffler made for the SR does this.
This is a bit different from rust, and it comes back with ordinary metal polish.
The usual way to care for a stainless muffler is to protect it with heat-resistant wax to limit discoloration and polish it with metal polish.

Q Can it be made even quieter than it is now?

It can be quieted by reducing the area of the exhaust path with perforated mesh, which increases the silencing effect.
*The change in exhaust balance is expected to slightly reduce output at high rpm (5000-7000rpm), but that range is rarely used on the street, and since this muffler boosts torque in the everyday 3000-5000rpm range, the effect there should be small.
This is a paid service, but if you send us the muffler we can carry out the silencing modification.

Lead time: approx. 1-2 weeks after arrival

Q What is the diameter of the mounting area in mm? Is a gasket needed?

The inner diameter is about 38.1+0.1. Stock header pipes have slight dimensional variations, so there may be exhaust leaks.
This product has a straight-through structure and the pressure inside the muffler is not very high, so it should have almost no effect on output, etc., but
some soot may build up, so if it bothers you, please use liquid gasket.
