Clip-Ons and a Lucas-Type Headlight on an SR400 FI Model
Fitting clip-on handlebars to a fuel-injected SR400. Since the stock headlight bracket can no longer be used, we also relocate the headlight bracket and turn signals. Here's a summary of the parts needed and points to note.

- What you need when fitting clip-ons to an SR
- How to relocate the headlight bracket and turn signals
- Road-legality points such as the steering stopper and turn signal spacing
The base bike this time is a candy red SR400 FI (fuel-injected) model. We combine clip-on handlebars with a Lucas-type headlight for a low, aggressive style.
The FI model has more ancillary components than carbureted bikes, but the installation itself went without major problems. We walk through the process and the parts needed for the clip-on conversion in order.
01 Base bike and parts used

The handlebar fitted is the Clip-On Handlebar 22.2mm/φ35 Chrome comes in handy.

02 Relocating the headlight bracket and turn signals
First, remove the stock headlight bracket. The turn signals are also mounted on the stock bracket, so they need to be relocated too.

For the new headlight bracket, we used the Pipe Light Bracket 35φ, and for the headlight, the 7 Inch Lucas Type Headlight Case.

03 Installing the clip-ons

When fitting clip-ons, a separate steering stopper is needed to limit the steering angle. All the stock wiring fits inside the headlight case.

Another nice point is that the cables can be routed at their stock length. The brake hose, however, needs its angle changed.
04 The finished bike and turn signal position

The turn signals were relocated to this position using the Down Mount Turn Signal Bracket Short.

With the short turn signal bracket, the left-to-right spacing isn't wide enough to pass Japan's shaken inspection (depending on the size of the turn signals themselves).Long type will meet the spacing requirement.

05 Summary: fitting clip-ons to an SR
- The stock headlight bracket can't be used
- So the turn signals must be relocated too
